Ein subjektiver erster Eindruck von Clara Luzias neuem Album.
Clara Humpel ist seit 1999 in der österreichischen Musikszene bekannt. Mit ihrer Band Alalie Lilt hat sie zwei Alben veröffentlicht, bis sie sich 2006 dazu entschied eigene Wege zu gehen, als Clara Luzia. Am 16.April ist Clara Luzias drittes Album erschienen. The Ground Below heißt es, braucht sich aber genauso wenig wie seine beiden Vorgänger im Untergrund zu verstecken.

Clara Luzia spielt auch auf The Ground Below wieder mit Geschlechterrollen,
besingt Zwischenmenschliches genauso wie Politisches und zeichnet
großartige Metaphern, in denen man sich jedes Mal aufs Neue wiederfinden kann.
Eigentlich ist alles gleichgeblieben: Die Melodien sind eingängig, manche machen melancholisch, andere machen glücklich. Die Texte sind aus dem Leben gegriffen, manche regen zum Nachdenken an, andere zum Mitsingen. Das ist aber genau das, was man von Clara Luzia schon gewohnt war.
Vielleicht aber hätte sie diesmal etwas Anderes machen, etwas mehr experimentieren sollen. Irgendetwas, das man noch nicht von ihr kannte.
Besonders sticht da das Stück "Faces" hervor, bei dem Clara Luzia nur den Refrain singt, der Rest des Songs wird von Emma McGlynns Sprechgesang gefüllt. Für mich das beste Stück der gesammten Platte!

The Ground Below ist ein vollkommen rundes Album, es gibt keinen Song, der nicht passen würde, der einem nicht gefallen könnte. "Faces" sticht zwar hervor, fügt sich aber gleichzeitig auch wunderbar ins Gesamtbild ein.
Was sich musikalisch verändert hat, ist schnell erklärt. Pompöser ist alles geworden - mehr Bläser, mehr Streicher, mehr textliches Selbstvertrauen. Immerhin hat sie sich vom "Lucky Gal" (Railroad Tracks) nun zur "Queen Of The Wolves" entwickelt, wie der erste Track auf The Ground Below heißt.
Die Band ist um ein Mitglied kleiner geworden: Mika Vember (Schlagzeug) geht nun ihre eigenen Pfade und widmet sich verstärkt ihrem Solo-Projekt. Dafür haben sich, wie gesagt, mehr Bläser und die Schwester der Cellistin - eine Bratsche-Spielerin - auf The Ground Below eingefunden.

Zusammengefasst: The Ground Below ist großartig ausgeklügelter Pop, wunderbar arrangiert und durchdacht. Perfekt, um den Frühling zu zelebrieren, aber auch jede andere Jahreszeit. Clara Luzia hat sich mehr getraut, auch wenn ich persönlich ihr noch mehr zutrauen würde. Aber wer weiß, was da noch kommen wird. Das war sicher nicht Frau Humpels letzter Streich.

Wong's ability to find the right information that helps decision-making perhaps goes back to his early career when he was a journalist. He went on to study an MBA and moved to work in the Hong Kong stock exchange, before eventually joining Midland Realty, one of Hong Kong's largest property A Lange & Sohne replique. Despite his training in Western management methods, he believes it is important to apply elements of Chinese culture when doing business. "In Hong Kong, the property business is about people. We need to have a human touch in dealing with people; otherwise it's difficult to succeed. That's the oriental way."
