Auf ein Neues…. Die aktuelle Nolabel Kolumne dringt heute in ein Genre vor, das bisher, zumindest von meiner Seite, eher unberührt blieb. Heute möchte ich die Pfade des Rock, Punk, Indie und was es hier schon alles gab, verlassen und auf die Schiene der Elektronik aufspringen.
XBloome heißt die Band, die sich Größen wie Sigur Ros oder Massive Attack zum Vorbild genommen hat. Sie besteht aus vier Musikern, die ursprünglich aus den verschiedensten Musikrichtungen gekommen sind, um sich dann zu treffen und gemeinsam vollkommen andere Musik zu machen. Etwas größenwahnsinnig und doch irgendwie charmant verkündet die Sängerin Bel „Ich bin Musik“. Peter bastelte sich aus Müll ein Schlagzeug bevor er zum Laptop griff. Hannes sorgt mit seinem Keyboard für das musikalische Grundgerüst, und dann ist da noch Bernhard, der mit seinem Bass anrückt, wenn’s live zur Sache geht.
Improvisation wird laut der Band groß geschrieben: „spontane Einfälle, konstante Änderungen und stundenlanges Experimentieren charakterisieren das Wesen der Band. Das Grundgerüst entwirft meist Hannes auf dem Korg, Bel steuert dann einen Text, ihre Stimme und manchmal auch eine Geigenmelodie bei. Der Rest wird drum herum gelegt. Und der Stil, der da gebracht wird? Schwer zu beschreiben: Elektronisch eben - irgendwo zwischen Ambient und Disco.“
Vielseitig sind die Musiker von XBloome allemal. Die Geigenpassagen die z.B. bei ihren Liedern „Pressure of Time“ oder „Time Crisis“ (
www.nolabel.at/XBLOOME ) zu hören sind, sind nicht nur etwas Außergewöhnliches, die Band schafft es auch, die Parts wunderbar passend in ihre Songs einzubinden. Texte gibt es auf Deutsch und Englisch und sogar ein paar Tango Beats sind zu finden auf ihrem Debüt Album „Done“. Also – REINHÖREN!
